Mission Statement
The Sisters of the Holy Mother Addolorata participate in Jesus’ mission to bring full life to others by revealing God’s love for all, especially the poor.
WELCOME
Who are we?
The Charism that emerged during the founding years of the Congregation continues to exert a dynamic influence and shape our specific mission in the Church. Through a life dedicated to apostolic service, animated by a contemplative spirit, we care for those in need, especially the poor, and, in our poverty, above all we seek God.
‘Lord, I ask nothing but Thee, nothing but Thee do I wish to possess entirely’.
(Mother Francesca Streitel)
Teaching
‘We serve in the mission of caring for the sick and educating children, in
wherever they may be, let us follow this call with joy and resolutely strive to give
’everything to everyone”.
(Mother Francesca Streitel)
Evengelisation
‘Humanity conceals within itself two jewels whose value it seldom appreciates: the poor and the sick’.
(Mother Francesca Streitel)
Care
“Sisters who go to assist a sick person, before leaving the convent, must
go, even if only for a short time, to the tabernacle. They renew their resolutions for the day and ask the Lord to manifest his presence with life-giving grace so that throughout the day the glory of God is their goal.”
(Mother Francesca Streitel)

Prayer request
“Yesterday I was united with her in the cross more than ever; I could have spent the whole night wrestling in prayer for her. I had Holy Communion offered especially for her, I invited the sisters to pray more and to observe holy silence more strictly than usual, this must be of help to her.”
(M. Francesca Streitel, Letter n° 26)
